So much to do at the library!
Check out your local or neighboring county library for fun for free! They usually have events for the entire family! There are traditional offerings of finger play events for babies and storytimes for older children.
Some nowadays even offer workshops for teens on STEM topics, knitting classes, and game times. I’ve seen great Meet the Gardener sessions where you can bring a leaf or flower, and the expert will tell you what kind of plant it is or what ails it (if you bring a diseased sample) and suggestions for what may be done. Sometimes, authors will promote their material and be available to meet the public.
Usually, the library will have a monthly or quarterly mailer with dates and times for these types of events.
Also, look online for free resources you can access entirely online. Just by getting a library card, often you can check out ebooks online, watch streaming videos, and look at magazines (Zinio!) instead of buying them.
Just think of the paper savings! I’ve stopped subscribing to the many magazines I used to get for free because of this. (However, they do help the kids with cute collages!)
